You can now transfer Whatsapp chat history between Android and IOS
Samsung phones will get the first treat

WhatsApp has finally addressed one of the most vexing issues with its conversation histories: the inability to transfer them across platforms. Facebook has announced the ability to import your WhatsApp chat history between Android and iOS at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked presentation.
It will first be available on Android phones, beginning with Samsung phones running Android 10 or newer (including the new foldables), but it will eventually be available on both platforms.
The transfer, which includes photos and voice recordings, should arrive in the “coming weeks” for consumers.
According to WhatsApp, the installation proved problematic. Migrating the messages, which are end-to-end encrypted and stored on the device, will require “extra work” from WhatsApp, OS developers, and phone manufacturers. To put it another way, enabling transfers like these required a collective effort.
It’s understandable that WhatsApp would make the announcement during Unpacked. Samsung is evidently hoping that this will entice iPhone users who were afraid to convert to a Galaxy phone because they would lose their WhatsApp histories. This will, however, be handy for users migrating to iPhones or anyone concerned about losing a crucial chat thread while switching platforms.
